1. Overview
Apocrify ("the Service", "the Site") is owned and operated by MDS MEDIA LIMITED ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our:
Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these Terms. We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page and the date above will reflect the latest revision.
2. Products and services
The Site offers:
- The digital membership: Apocrify, delivered in your web browser, with guided daily audio episodes, bedtime scripture stories, a course, the text of the books of the Ethiopian Bible with narration, reading plans and related features, together with any content we add over time.
- Digital products such as eBooks, PDFs and downloadable resources.
- Physical books printed and shipped to the customer's address.
All products are described as accurately as possible. Digital access is delivered electronically, usually within minutes of payment or sign-up. Physical books are printed and fulfilled through certified printing partners.
3. Plans and access
- Free account: a few sample episodes, available with your email address only.
- Free trial: full access for the number of days shown on the sign-up page at the time you start it. A valid card is required to start it. Nothing is charged during the trial.
- Lifetime access: a single payment. "Lifetime" means for as long as the Service is operated.
- Annual membership: a payment that renews automatically every 12 months until you cancel.
- Gift: a single payment that gives another person the plan you choose. No subscription is created.
- Second listener: a paid member may invite one person to use the Service with their own account at no extra cost. Their access lasts as long as the member's access.
Access is personal and tied to the email address used at sign-up. You sign in with your email and password, or with Google. Passwords are personal and must not be shared.
4. Free trial and automatic charge
By starting the free trial you authorize us to charge the card you provide at the end of the trial for the plan you selected, unless you cancel before the trial ends. We send you an email reminder before the trial ends. You can cancel in one tap from the "Me" page inside the app, or by writing to us. If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged.
5. Annual renewals
Annual memberships renew automatically unless you cancel. About seven days before each renewal we email you the amount that will be charged; if the annual price has changed, the new price applies from that renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. A receipt is sent by email after every charge.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the Service, including texts, scripts, audio recordings, images, layouts and software, is the property of MDS MEDIA LIMITED or its licensors unless otherwise noted. Scripture passages are read from public-domain translations.
You may not:
- reproduce, record, download, distribute or share our content,
- copy or resell our content,
- use our materials for commercial purposes.
Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to listen to and read the content.
7. About the content
Episodes are written by our editorial team and narrated with text-to-speech technology. The Service offers reflection, devotion and historical context. It is not the official teaching of any church and does not constitute legal, medical, psychological, financial or other professional advice.
8. Use of the Service
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- engage in fraudulent or illegal activity,
- attempt to bypass security or access controls,
- share your password or account outside your membership (a second listener can be invited for free from "Me"),
- interfere with the operation of the Service.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to users who violate these Terms.
9. Physical books and shipping
Physical books are printed and fulfilled through professional print-on-demand partners. Shipping times vary by destination, production times may affect delivery, and customers must provide accurate shipping information. If an order arrives damaged, misprinted or incorrect, we will arrange a replacement or refund according to our Refunds Policy. Full details are in our Shipping Policy and Delivery & Billing Rules.
10. Payments
Payments are processed securely by Airwallex. We do not store card numbers on our servers. Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout, together with any applicable taxes. By completing a purchase you also agree to the terms and security protocols of the payment provider.
11. Price changes
We may update prices, promotional offers or availability at any time. Price changes never affect a lifetime purchase already made, and for annual members they apply only from the next renewal, after notice by email. A trial already started keeps the length and the amount shown when it began.
12. Refunds
Refunds are handled according to our Refunds Policy. In short: the membership starts with a free trial you can cancel with one click; if you are charged at the end of the trial and write to us within 14 days, we refund that first charge once as a courtesy; if you pay right away without the trial, you have 7 days.
13. Changes to the content
We may add, update or retire episodes and features. We will not reduce what lifetime members have paid for without offering an equivalent.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- MDS MEDIA LIMITED is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data or loss of profits,
- MDS MEDIA LIMITED is not responsible for delays caused by third-party carriers or printing partners, or for interruptions caused by internet providers, devices, browsers, email providers or other technical issues outside our control.
Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access in cases of misuse or violation of these Terms. Sections such as intellectual property and limitation of liability remain enforceable after termination.
16. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. This does not remove any mandatory protection you enjoy as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.
